How do I become a Youth Leader?
If you are young at heart and enjoy nurturing and helping young people grow, there are several roles within the Hato Hone St John Youth Programme that might suit you. Maybe you want to join a Division in a leader role or use specific skills behind the scenes as resource member? Or possibly you’re looking to simply volunteer your time to help out on the night, at a camp or get involved with fundraising - there are many roles to suit your interests, skills and time available ... or perhaps you want to do everything!
As a Youth Leader, you can be at fore-front and interact with young people while developing your own leadership skills. Become an Area or Divisional Manager and lead, support and grow a team of leaders and cadets. Or go undercover and help out behind the scenes in a resource or youth support role. It’s not all about first aid! Our Youth Programme is about helping young people build confidence, learn new skills …. and having fun! Ready to come join us? The next step is to undergo a strict vetting process for the safety and wellbeing of the youth in our care.
